Who We Are

Halal Helper LLC ("HalalHelper," "we," "us") is a New Jersey limited liability company that provides software tools and consulting services for the halal meat industry. Our website is halalhelper.com. For privacy questions, contact us at omer@halalhelper.com.

What Data We Collect

We collect only what you give us or what your device provides with your consent:

Contact form submissions: Name, phone number, email address, business name, location, and message text submitted through our "Schedule a Demo" form.
Location data (Ramadan App only): If you use the GPS feature in our Ramadan prayer times application, your device's latitude and longitude coordinates are used to calculate accurate prayer times for your location. This data is processed in your browser and is not stored on our servers.
Zip code lookups: If you enter a zip code in the Ramadan app, we send it to third-party geocoding services to determine your coordinates for prayer time calculation.

Sensitive Data — Religious Context

Our Ramadan prayer times application is designed for Muslim users observing Ramadan. By using this app, you may reveal information about your religious beliefs. Under GDPR Article 9, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, and similar laws, religious data is classified as sensitive personal data requiring explicit consent.

We do not store, transmit, or share your religious data. Prayer time calculations run entirely in your web browser. No prayer time data, religious preferences, or location data from the Ramadan app is sent to HalalHelper servers. GPS coordinates are sent directly from your browser to third-party prayer time APIs (Aladhan.com) and geocoding services — not through our servers.

How We Use Your Data

Contact form data: To respond to your demo request, schedule a call, and follow up about our services. We will not contact you for unrelated marketing.
Location data: Solely to calculate prayer times in the Ramadan app. Not stored, not shared, not used for any other purpose.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may receive data from your browser:

Web3Forms (form processing): Receives your contact form submissions. Their privacy policy is at web3forms.com/privacy.
Aladhan.com (prayer times): Receives your latitude/longitude to return prayer time calculations. Operated by Islamic Network.
Zippopotam.us (zip code lookup): Receives zip codes to return geographic coordinates. Open source, ODbL licensed.
Google Fonts: Loads typefaces from Google's CDN. Google may collect IP address data per their privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

Cookies and Tracking

HalalHelper.com does not use cookies, analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or any form of user tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained by Web3Forms per their data retention policy and delivered to our email. We retain your contact information only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry. Location data from the Ramadan app is never stored — it exists only during your active browser session.

In practice, we apply the following retention periods:

Emails and messages you send us: 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
Contact and enquiry form submissions: 24 months from the date of submission, then deleted.
Hosting and security logs: kept by our hosting provider under its standard policy, typically around 30 days.
Location and prayer time data: never retained — it exists only in your browser during your session.

We may keep information for longer where the law requires it, or where it is needed to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim or to resolve a dispute. Once the reason for keeping the data ends, we delete it.

Deleting Your Data

To ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you, email omer@halalhelper.com with the subject line "Delete my data" and tell us the email address, phone number, or business name you used with us. We will confirm and respond within 30 days. There is no charge for this.

If a legal obligation or an open dispute requires us to keep part of the record, we will tell you what we are keeping and why, and delete the rest.

Anything our tools store in your own browser — saved inputs, preferences, or cached settings — never reaches our servers, and you can clear it yourself at any time through your browser's site data or "clear browsing data" settings for halalhelper.com.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

Request access to personal data we hold about you
Request deletion of your personal data
Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
Request correction of inaccurate data
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale (though we do not sell data). Contact omer@halalhelper.com to exercise these rights.

New Jersey Residents (NJDPA)

Under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act (effective January 15, 2025), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data. Precise geolocation and religious beliefs are classified as sensitive data under NJDPA. We process this data only with your consent (via GPS permission prompt and voluntary use of the Ramadan app).

Children's Privacy

HalalHelper is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our form, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be noted on our homepage.
